“Transactional analysis is a technique used to help people better understands their own and other’s behaviour, especially in interpersonal relationship.” 

Meaning of transactional analysis 

Transactional Analysis was founded by Eric Berne, and the famous 'parent adult child' theory is still being developed today.

Transactional Analysis has wide applications in clinical, therapeutic, organizational and personal development, encompassing communications, management, personality, relationships and behaviour.

Transactional analysis involves the analysis of the following factors:

2. Ego State

3. Analysis of transactions

4. Life Script

5. Psychological games

6. Study of life positions

8. Games analysis

Goals of transactional analysis:-

Johari Window:

Johari Window is the psychological model developed by Joseph Luft and Harrington Ingham, that talks about the relationship and mutual understanding between the group . The Johari Window model is made up of four quadrants that explain the overall relationship of an individual with himself and with other group members. These are as follows:

   • Open Self: This quadrant shows the behavior, motives, attitudes, knowledge skills of an individual that he is aware of and is willing to share it with others.

Blind Self: The blind self shows the state of an individual known to others but not known to him.

Hidden Self: This quadrant of the Johari window shows the state of an individual known to him but not known to the others.

Unknown Self: The unknown self is the mysterious state of an individual neither known to him, nor others know about it.
