Meaning of DSS 

 The term decision support system (DSS) refers to a class of system, which support the process of making decisions. Decision support systems allow the decision maker to retrieve data and test alternative solutions during the process of problems solving

1)Data management sub-system:- the data management sub-system includes a database that contains relevant data for the situation and is managed by software


2)Model Management sub-System:-this is software package that include financial,management science or other quantitative models that provide the system analytical capabilities and appropriate software management.


3)User interface Sub-System:-the user communicates with and commands the DSS through this sub-system


4)knowledge-Based Management:-thus subsystem can support any of the other subsystem or act as an independent component .
